We came here last Saturday for my birthday lunch :) The place is really cute when we walked in. There is a huge oyster bar in the middle of the restaurant where you can sit and eat oysters all day if you wanted to! We sat at the tables in the back. Our waitress was super nice and brought over crayons and coloring pages for my daughter while we waited for our food. I got pink lemonade as a drink which was tart and lemony. For appetizers we got the fried calamari. Calamari was very fresh, seasoned well and not too much breading.. For entrees I got the lobster roll with fries and my husband got the fish and chips. The lobster roll is prob one of the best ones I've had in a long time (and generally I do not like cold lobster rolls!). The fries you can tell were hand cut and fried. My husband really enjoyed his fish and chips as well. We all enjoyed our meals and would gladly return to try other things on the item :)

This was recommended by one of the gentleman at the hotel. This is a very nice restaurant and the setting fits the food, amazing! We were seated promptly and the went over the menu and made some great suggestions. We had the pleasure of making it for happy hour and they have some great renderings at that time also. The punch is a must and the crab meat deviled eggs were amazing. We share the grilled lobster with fresh hand cut fries. We added a side of Mexican street corn. This was an amazing dish. The lobster was delicious and the fries were crispy and tender at the same time. The street corn was some of the best I've ever had. They grilled it to perfection and the sauce on the corn put it over the top. This one is definitely on our list of keepers!!!'n

Very lively happy hour giving a nice atmosphere. The place is very cute, decent size where all tables pretty much surround the bar. The happy hour specials are great, the deviled eggs were delicious and the oyster options were plentiful. The staff was welcoming and attentive. A great choice before my international flight.

Always love the Oyster House. I go there every time I visit Philly, maybe twice a month. I love love love the freshness of their seafood. Oysters, scallops, shrimps, crab cakes, fisherman's stew, clam chowder, fries, and more. The BEST SURPRISE has to be the butter scotch pudding. It is here to die for. Save room for dessert!! The quality of their food is consistent since I first visited in 2012. I am not kidding. The butter scotch pudding is the SAME yummy heaven. This is a place where I can comfortably rotate my entrée and still want to try more. They are not a one hit wonder. The service there is excellent! Make a reservation before you go and if you can eat a little earlier you can beat the crowd. The ambiance is lovely. They do a good job to keep the restaurant looking and feeling the same, not dated or poorly maintained, after all these years. It is one favorite in Philly for sure

My last bite and sip of my Philly trip was at Oyster House. It was the middle of the heat wave and I was craving a chilled wine and oysters so Yelp helped me find this spot near my hotel. Come to find out, it's a local fave as my friends who used to live in Philly told me it was one of their go-tos when they lived in the area. I sat at the bar and Giuseppe was my bartender. I opted for a muscadet and half a dozen oysters. I got to try two varieties of NJ oysters which I had never had before. They were briny and delish. While I didn't enjoy any of the dishes, the menu looked tasty. The bar area is super spacious and they also have an oyster bar if you want a front row seat to the action.

Oyster House happy hour was very good! The oysters were nice and large, the mussels also were hefty and delicious, the crab deviled egg was just fine but a bit pricey, overall a very good happy hour. They have wine/beer deals and a limited cocktail menu for happy hour. Service was good, a little busy given the quality of the happy hour but no issues overall. Will be back!

Loved spaciousness and ambiance. Everything we ordered was good. Ceviche was outstanding. And butterscotch pudding was delicious, not too sweet. Service was very professional. Enjoyed our late lunch.

We came for lunch and it really hit the spot. A variety of oysters are on the menu and we had fun trying all of them. The grilled salmon salad was excellent, especially if you like arugula. The salmon was so wonderfully cooked, melty inside and nice char outside. The fries are also delicious.

Often in Philly and this is a staple which I must visit (at least once) during my stay. Oysters and clams are fresh and shucking technique superior than most. Frustrating are shuckers that don't unhinge the oyster from the shell or leave shell fragments. At Oyster House, there is no need to use utensils cause they slip off the shell. Service is often friendlier than expected for such a busy restaurant. The roasted oysters are executed properly here. Not overcooked nor chewy. Definitely give them a try. This place is a must for raw bar enthusiasts. One knock is the happy hour limits the pricing to a VA oyster which I am not fond of. I would like to see a rotating selection of 1 east coast and 1 west coast happy hour.
